making software make me software so i can make software

i'm currently working on my most ambitious project, the dunce music player (or dunce player). it's the second dunce-branded app that aims to make listening to music pleasant and intuitive.

obviously, making a good music player with great ux is not easy, especially for one person.

i used to (and still do) hate the "second brain" people who just spend all day typing every single detail of their projects in a notion doc instead of actually building the thing.

but, now that i can make claude go through the tedious parts, i, too want to document stuff.

example: last night, i spent some time using a very early build of dunce music player to listen to music. i found at least 5 bugs that i need to fix and wanted to note them down somewhere.

so i did the most logical thing and asked v0 to make me a quick todo app. that failed spectacularly. i then gave the same task to claude 4.5 opus and it smashed it. after some quick manual changes and code review, i shipped my very basic personal todo list app.
