what even is dunce?

simply put, dunce is a lyrics app that puts you first. from the way you search to the way you view lyrics, we made it as easy as possible to use.

what's different about dunce?

take genius.com for example. genius is filled with bullshit like annoying ads in the middle of your lyrics, shitty design and bad engineering, making it slow and annoying to use. it feels like you're fighting against the site when all you want is just some lyrics.

dunce is different. we built it to make it as easy as possible to go from vibe → lyrics. imagine a song, type the name, hit enter, boom, lyrics. no ads, no nothing.

in fact, i calculated it. on the lyrics page of genius.com less than 5% of the screen is taken up by the actual content. the rest? useless shit.

what's the future of dunce like?

dunce will continue to be a free app, and might go open source in the future. i will never make the user experience worse for money. ever. dunce will never have ads, dunce will never share your data or prioritize monetary gain over user experience.
